Fingering-weight 100% wool yarn in “Mineral Green,” hand-dyed with natural indigo and weld plants.

These two plants have been used for thousands of years. The same indigo and weld once colored medieval European tapestries, Middle Eastern carpets, and countless handmade textiles. It feels truly special to work with these ancient dyes and to share this tradition with you.

This green is created slowly and with care. First, the yarn is gently washed and dyed in indigo to build a blue base. Then it is washed again, mordanted, and dyed in a warm yellow weld bath. When the blue and yellow layers come together, they create a beautiful, living green that can only be achieved through this two-step process. It takes extra time and attention—but these greens make it worth it.

Because each batch is dyed by hand using plants, no two batches are exactly the same (or difficult to recreate). Every project made with this yarn carries its own quiet variations and natural beauty, making your work truly one of a kind.

Weight of one skein:

- 50 g / 1.75 oz

Why choose naturally dyed wool wool?

  • Breathable: Natural wool fiber allows air to circulate, keeping you comfortable by regulating your body temperature. It keeps you warm in cold weather and cool in warm conditions.

  • Durable: Wool fibers are strong and resilient, making garments last longer than those made from synthetic fibers such as acrylic.

  • Naturally Odor-Resistant: Wool has natural antimicrobial properties that resist odors, keeping garments fresher for longer.

  • Moisture-Wicking: Wool naturally absorbs and wicks away moisture, helping to keep you dry and comfortable in varying climates.

  • Nature-Friendly: Wool is biodegradable and can be easily composted, leaving no waste when an item is no longer wearable.

  • Dyed with plants: Naturally dyed wool ties us to the earth and centuries of tradition, allowing us to be part of an ancient craft. Each piece carries the legacy of natural dyeing, rich with history and beauty.
