Weld (lat. Reseda luteola seeds) is one of the oldest and most important historical dyes harvested by many ancient civilizations because of its brilliant, long lasting lemon-yellow color. It is known not only for yellow shades - overdyed with blue woad or indigo it produces other famous colors - Saxon and Lincoln green, as well as other brilliant shades. You may find samples of these shades in photos.

A dyer’s garden can be a truly rewarding project, letting you experience the full cycle of nature as you plant, nurture, harvest, and finally dye with your own home-grown colors. Growing your own dye plants deepens your connection to the natural world and brings a personal touch to every fiber and hue.
